Ok I admit this is a little over board as I like Notre Dame as well, but Program Director Brian Noe (104.5 "The Team" ESPN Radio) is a big Notre Dame fan. The question is, can Noe suit up to play for the Irish when they kick off the season this coming Saturday taking on Navy in a game that will be played in Ireland?

Notre Dame suspended starting QB Tommy Rees and LB Carlos Calabrese earlier this summer for an off field incident involving the cops and an off campus party.

Today the Irish announced that 2 more players, including starting RB Cierre Wood and DE Justin Utopo for the 1st games of the year, would miss their opener with Navy and next week's home game against Purdue.

No reasons were given for the latest suspensions although head coach Brian Kelly did comment "Our players are aware of the standards I set for our program and failure to meet my expectations will result in consequences. Both players (Wood and Utopo) violated our team rules so I have suspended them for the 1st two games of the season".

Wood led the Irish in rushing last year gaining over 1,100 yards. He will be replaced by Theo Riddick. The Fighting Irish also lost top DB Lo Wood with an ruptured Achilles tendon. He also had surgery earlier this week and will be gone for the entire season.

The Irish will need some luck and players to beat a rugged Navy team this Saturday in Dublin! Hey Noe, can you run the ball or stop the run?????
