It was a relatively disappointing year for head coach Adrian Red Autry at Syracuse.  Now he had big shoes to fill in replacing Jim Boeheim as he was a long time assistant under him.  Syracuse got blown out on Wednesday night by NC State a team that they beat twice during the regular season.  So unfortunately the season ends as it has for now three consecutive seasons in the ACC Conference Tournament.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

If Syracuse has any chance of making the NCAA tournament, they needed to at least reach the ACC Championship Game and instead they got knocked out in the second round losing by 18 points on Wednesday to North Carolina State a team they beat twice in the regular season. It was an awful showing by first year head coach Adrian Autry and the Orange. Honestly, it looked like they didn't want to play and that's on the head coach. Onto the off-season and back on the transfer portal. Syracuse needs a lot of work which starts with better players.

The Orange were a young team this season and only usually went eight deep and mainly played six sophomores.  The youth and inexperience might have hurt them throughout the season especially in conference play as Coach Autry has to be more aggressive with the transfer portal during the offseason.  Experience matters in march and with the March Madness NCAA Tournament.  I do believe Syracuse will be back and better than ever next year and will get back into the Big Dance.
