It was a rough start to the season for the New York Knicks but they will surely bounce back.  They got blown out on the road at the defending champion Boston Celtics.  Then again, the Celtics did tie an NBA record of 29 made three pointers and simply could not miss.  However, the Knicks defense looked very flat and their new superstar who they signed Karl Anthony Towns didn't play a lick of defense and was underwhelming in his debut.  It is only one game but they will need to play a lot better moving forward.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

The New York Knicks will have a great season, but it got off to a horrible start. I did not expect a win on opening night in Boston but I expected to watch a team ready to compete. Instead the Knicks went thru the motions and got blown out by the defending World Champions. Knicks Super Star Karl-Anthony Towns was a non factor and Towns like the rest of his teammates played no defense watching Boston tie an NBA record with 29 made three pointers.  It will all get better moving forward for New York but the Celtics looked like a team that has the determination to make a repeat of last season.

The Knicks have their home opener on Friday vs the Indiana Pacers who is the team that eliminated them from the NBA playoffs last year.  I believe the Knicks will bounce back and will get their first win of the season on Friday night.
