The Siena men's basketball team continues to get better as new first year head coach Gerry McNamara continues to make moves both with his roster and his coaching staff.  McNamara is bringing in long time veteran coach Brian Beaury to be an assistant.  Beaury is a brilliant coach who is a proven winner and always has a great relationship with both his staff and his players.  He will be someone that Coach McNamara can rely on when times are tough and when things are going well because Coach Beaury always keeps it real and gives very valuable advice.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

Smart move by Siena head coach Gerry McNamara for hiring Brian Beaury as a special assistant to complete his coaching staff. Beaury is a coaching Icon who won 654 games in 33 seasons at Saint Rose and can only help GMac in his first season as a head coach. Beaury has incredible knowledge of the game and there is not a question he can't answer when it comes to coaching. His Saint Rose teams were always very good defensively and maybe that's one part of the game he can make an immediate impact on at Siena.

I am very excited to see what this Siena men's basketball program will look like this year.  Gmac is a first year head coach but seems to have constructed a great roster and come November they will be ready to go with the schedule now out.
