How Special Was This 2024 Season For The Tri City Valleycats?
The 2024 campaign for the Tri City Valleycats was a good one as they made their first playoff appearance in six years since 2018. First year manager Greg Tagert did an excellent job as all of his players love him and would run through a wall for him. I was live at Joe Bruno Stadium with WNYT NewsChannel 13 five times this season and each time the crowd was awesome and the team played and competed very hard. The front office did another terrific job as the atmosphere was always loud and fun. Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:
The season Arlo Marynczak is having with the ValleyCats has spurred on his baseball career. The Bethlehem and Siena grad might be done playing baseball if he didn't make the ValleyCats roster and now the rest is history. Marynczek a right-handed pitcher was a major contributor in helping the ValleyCats' make the postseason for the fire time since 2018. Arlo has been effective both as a starter and relief pitcher. When the season is over, he plans to continue his baseball career which could end up back with the Cats next season and nobody will complain about that.
It is onto next season for the Cats and only up from here. They are one of the best teams not only in the Eastern division but the entire Frontier League. It is onward and upward from here and the goal will be to win in the playoffs next season where I'm sure that they will return.
