How Would You Rate The New York Yankees Offseason So Far?
The New York Yankees have been making moves this offseason and their plan B has been is in full effect ever since Juan Soto went to the New York Mets. They have already gotten Max Fried, Devin Williams, and now most recently Cody Bellinger from the Cubs the other day. Brian Cashman does not appear done as they are linked to several first and third baseman all around the league. They also want Roki Sasaki from Japan who is only 23 years old. Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:
The New York Yankees will never replace Juan Soto but acquiring Cody Bellinger is a step in the right direction. He is a left-handed bat who can hit for power, and he will play centerfield and that allows Aaron Judge to move into right field. General Manager Brian Cashman has done a good job picking up the pieces from the loss of Soto, with still more to come. Bellinger can hit a lot of home runs at Yankees Stadium his swig is made for it.
The Yankees will still be a playoff team and will be competing in the AL East in 2025. They will of course miss Juan Soto as he is a generational talent but they sure are taking the necessary steps of action to make their team better. Brian Cashman does deserve some credit here for what he has done. While he has absolutely deserved some of the criticism in the past this offseason he doesn't deserve any to this point.
