The UAlbany football team has had a very good season so far.  They just beat Rhode Island on Saturday afternoon 35-10 at home and improved to 3-1 overall in the CAA conference.  They are also unbeaten at home at 3-0 overall.  Their defense is legit and outside of one poor performance on the road at New Hampshire, they have been rock solid.  Redshirt sophomore quarterback Reese Poffenbarger is starting to play way better too which is huge.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in the Times Union:

If UAlbany Sophomore quarterback Reese Poffenbarger continues to play at such high level the Great Danes will continue to have a special season. Reese thew for over 300 yards and four touchdowns on Saturday in the 35-10 win over Rhode Island. His pinpoint accuracy the last two games have been exceptional, and it does not hurt that graduate student wide receiver Julien Hicks is playing the best football of his UAlbany career. Still a long way to go, but UAlbany is good this season and Poffenbarger is a big reason why.

Next up for UAlbany is on the road at Maine on Saturday with a 1 p.m. kickoff.  They have a relatively easy schedule on paper with four games left.  They would need eight wins to ear a CAA playoff game appearance which means they would have to go 3-1 down the stretch here.  They are good enough to do that and are a complete team.  This team feels very different from teams in the past here recently and UAlbany will be looking to earn their first playoff berth since 2019.
