
Historic Streets Of Schenectady To Host Film Crew For Gilded Age
The Gilded Age returns to the Capital Region to film portions of season 4 of the HBO series starring Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Carrie Cook, and Morgan Spector. Filming will get underway Friday May 29th with road closures expected.
Set in the United States, the Gilded Age is an American historical drama television series created for HBO that is set in the 1880's. The first season premiered on January 24, 2022, and due to it's success the series has been renewed for a fourth season which will be filmed in the Capital Region.

Many scenes are filmed at various mansions in Newport, Rhode Island, including The Breakers, and Rosecliff. The Capital Region of New York has also been featured prominently in each of the first 3 seasons.
Historic downtown Troy and Russell Sage College exteriors have served as 19th-century Manhattan. Albany's Washington Park has been used as a replication of Central Park and, according to the Stockade Association, Schenectady's Stockade district will be filmed over a 10-day period for season 4.
Filming for The Gilded Age in the Stockade will take place Friday 5/29. With that in mind, there are parking restrictions. There will be no parking restrictions and road closures until 8pm on Friday 5/29.

On Tuesday 6/2, no parking restrictions and closures return from 6pm on 6/2 until 10pm Wednesday 6/3. This closure will be limited to Washington Avenue from Union Street to Front Street. Law enforcement will be on-site to help navigate this closure. Local residents will be able to access their driveways during these hours.
