It was another gorgeous day at historic Saratoga Race Course and the fans filed in early.  What would they see?  History and a Triple Crown race winner steal the show.John Velazquez became the all-time winning jockey at Saratoga with his race four win on horse Unitarian.  He now has 694 wins and will be commemorated with a statue at the old race course in coming months.  There was a short ceremony after the race and Velazquez was given a standing ovation by those in the clubhouse seats and elsewhere.

Belmont winner Palace Malice, meantime, took the $600,000 Jim Dandy race, the 10th of the day, with a start to finish race of speed and consistent position.  Mike E. Smith was the jockey winner and of course, the trainer is Todd Pletcher.

Kentucky Derby winning jockey Joel Rosario added two more wins.

Saratoga Racing has gone on for 150 years.  And the next 150 years are off to a roaring start because of historic days like July 27, 2013.
