What To Expect In Saratoga For the 2024 Belmont Stakes

It is finally here.  The 2024 Belmont Stakes is set for this Thursday through Sunday at Saratoga Racecourse.  The field for the Belmont will come out Monday night and the race obviously on Saturday evening.  The atmosphere is going to be electric as over 50,000 people should be there for Saturday.  You just hope at this rate that the weather holds up and there isn't any rain in the forecast.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

Post positions for Saturday's Belmont Stakes in Saratoga will be drawn on Monday and Sierra Leone will most likely be the favorite which means Mechanicville trainer Chad Brown has a very real chance to win the race in his hometown. Sierra Leone has lost twice by a nose in his career including the Kentucky Derby so he's due to get home first. The 1 1/4 distance is perfect for his come from behind style, but the field is tough and will include Kentucky Derby winner Mystic Dan.  Trainer Todd Pletcher will enter three horses and he's been a master over the years at winning the Belmont three times. Sets up as a great race with 50.000 fans in the house at Saratoga racecourse.
