It is now on to the Preakness Stakes as the next leg of the Triple Crown.  Will Mystic Dan be only the fourteenth horse to win the Triple Crown?  We will soon find out on Saturday at Pimlico racecourse if we will have a chance at the Triple Crown in our own backyard at Saratoga Racecourse.  June 6th thru 9th will be insane especially the running of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday June 8th.  But some news broke this week that altered the field and odds for the Preakness.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

When Preakness favorite Muth was scratched by trainer Bob Baffert from Saturday's race at Pimlico Racecourse in Baltimore it opened the door a little more for Kentucky Derby winner Mystic Dan to hit the winners circle first. Anything is possible in the field of 8 but the rooting interest is with trainer Ken McPeak because of the obvious. A win by Mystic Dan means there will be a Triple Crown on the line at the Belmont Stakes in Saratoga June 8th. I can't imagine what that atmosphere will be like, but I would love to find out.

We had horse racing expert Tim Wilkin on with us earlier this week right here on Big Board Sports on 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio.  Below is our full interview with him enjoy.

I hope Mystic Dan will win in the field of eight but there really are no guarantees with horse racing as everyone knows.  I expect a good and competitive Preakness Stakes.
