One day after announcing his decision to attend the University of Maryland in 2016, Shenendehowa basketball star Kevin Huerter joined us to talk about the decision.

We went to Shen and caught up with the versatile guard, who figures to slide into the Maryland plans right away when gets on campus.

We asked Huerter why he chose Maryland, how he saw himself fitting into their offensive scheme, and we asked him about his unfinished business at Shenendehowa.

Furthermore, we asked Huerter why it was important to have this decision done early. We also wanted to know if Maryland's conference (Big 10) had anything to do with his decision.

Huerter led Shen to the Class AA New York State championship this past March and received more than 20 scholarship offers from around the country. A good AAU season only grew his stock even further. He turned down offers from Notre Dame, Michigan, Miami, Marquette and Syracuse, among others.
