Knicks Insider Has Real Concerns About Obi Toppin [AUDIO]
The New York Knicks are back over .500 and getting ready for a prime time matchup with Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans tomorrow night. Marc Berman covers the Knicks for the New York Post and is making his first trip to cover them out of market this season not only because they're playing Zion but also because they're playing well. What can a matchup with Zion mean for Julius Randle and RJ Barrett? Listen to Marc Berman's interview to find out.
Possibly the hardest thing to hear from Berman was when he expressed real concern over the Knicks 8th pick of the 2020 NBA Draft, Obi Toppin. Toppin has had issues on both ends of the court. The knock on Toppin out of college was he wasn't known for defense but not scoring is a problem.
I've felt the lack of playing time was the issue but after listen to Marc Berman it feels like Toppin has a lot of improving to do and maybe not a ton of time to do it. Hopefully the Knicks win tomorrow in New Orleans and go on a run. They are currently 8th in the Eastern Conference and need to get to at least 6th to avoid a play in.
