The Rangers goals came from Mats Zuccarello, Oscar Lindberg, Chris Kreider and Derick Brassard to edge the ‘Canes. While King Henrik Lundqvist, had a solid outing with 33 saves on 36 shots.“A win is always big, even though it’s not perfect,” Lundqvist said. “It’s definitely something that you can build off and feel good about.”

The team didn't come out unscaved though, defenseman Kevin Klein went out with a muscle strain early in the first period, and never returned. The absence could be costly if the injury is significant, the 30-year-old was having a great start with six points in 24 games.

The Rangers head to Brooklyn Wednesday night for a division showdown with the New York Islanders.
