The New York Rangers season finally ended on Saturday in Game Six on the road at the Florida Panthers.  The Rangers were the bets team during the regular season so you have to feel disappointed if you are the Rangers as I know their fans are extremely disappointed.  The Rangers might have over estimated the Florida Panthers who the NHL's Eastern Conference just last season.  The only reason the Rangers made it as far as they did is because of their goalie Igor Shesterkin.  Now it is onto the offseason where the Rangers have to figure some things out.

The first order of business is to make Igor Shesterkin the highest paid goalie in the entire league.  His performance during the Stanley Cup Playoffs was incredible single handedly keep his team in games.  He also boasted a very impressive save percentage.  The so called big three of Artemi Panarin, Chris Kreider, and Mika Zibanejad all didn't step up up when the light were the brightest, outside of Kreider in game six of the second round of course.  The Rangers need to make some moves to get some tougher guys too.  They have a very talented roster but were not physical enough as Florida was by far and away the better team.

Head coach Peter Laviolette did a great job as head coach of this team in his first year.  He will make the necessary adjustments needed as will the front office.  The Rangers will be good and competitive again next year but they haven't won a Stanley Cup in over thirty years so something has to change for them here soon.
