MLB Players Involved With Biogenesis Prepared To Accept Suspensions
According to Yahoo! Sports, the majority of Major League Baseball players involved in the Biogenesis PED scandal are ready to accept suspensions of at least 50 games.15-20 players could be suspended in the following week. Alex Rodriguez is the only player among the group that will not accept any kind of suspension. He and his defense team have repeatedly stated that they will fight any type of suspension. Baseball is working on a possible suspension based on their labor deal as opposed to the drug program because that would disallow Rodriguez playing for the Yankees while an appeal was being battled through.
More from Yahoo!:
Faced with a litany of evidence including text messages to Biogenesis clinic founder Tony Bosch promising to send money in exchange for performance-enhancing drugs, upward of a dozen players are expected to agree to suspensions offered by the league within the next 72 hours, sources said.
Rodriguez, meanwhile, is obstinate in his plans to appeal any suspension despite what one source deemed “overwhelming” evidence tying him to extensive performance-enhancing drug use as well as interfering with the league’s investigation into Biogenesis, the south Florida wellness clinic at the center of the latest PED controversy.
And so we wait...
