Perhaps Brian Kelly is re-thinking his decision to stay at Notre Dame instead  of staying in South Bend. At least the Eagles have 2 or 3 qb's he could have chosen from. At Notre Dame his choices just got narrower.

The Fighting Irish announce that last year's starter Everett Golson is no longer enrolled at the university, citing academic issues.

Last season Golson threw for 12 td's and only 6 picks and led Notre Dame to a surprising undefeated regular season before his Irish were blown out by Alabama in the championship game.

Golsen released a statement Sunday that said he accepts Nitre dame's decision based on his " poor academic decision" without giving any specifics what exactly that meant. Students are covered by federal law which allows the reasons to be kept secretive when it comes to academic issues. Golson apologized to the school, fans, his family, and the coaches for his dismissal from the team. Golson claimed he will try and get back in good standing with the university and then try and fulfill his final 2 years of eligibility.

Notre Dame is still reeling a bit from the transfer of Gunner Kiel to Cincinnati. As of now ND has Tommy Rees who is going to be a senior and was the starter before Kelly made a surprising choice and switched to Golson before last season. Rees did have some legal issues stemming from an on campus incident that saw him and campus police get into an altercation. The Irish also have Andrew Hendrix on the roster. He has seen limited action in South Bend.
