The New York Giants could be without cornerback and first-round draft pick Prince Amukamara until the end of the month. Amukamara is still recovering from a broken foot he suffered Aug. 6 in training camp.

Coach Tom Coughlin told reporters to ask him about Amukamara after the team's bye week, which is in three weeks, between its game Oct. 16 against Buffalo and the Oct. 30 game against Miami. Initially, Coughlin had hoped Amukamara would miss eight to 10 weeks. The eight-week mark for Amukamara was this past Saturday.

I don't know what his original time frame was. Prince is not ready to go. He will not be for a while. We are not going to mess around here. Until he is ready to go ... I really don't ask about him every day because to me it is off somewhere in the distance. It's very slow, as you would imagine, but it is gradual and we are making progress. There is no setback.
