The Albany Cup saga has been encompassing the area basketball scene for months. There has been a lot of debate about whether the game will be played in 2015-16 and beyond.

Concerns have risen about UAlbany's desire to hold a game at SEFCU Arena, and with the rise of the Danes' program, they have some leverage despite the Times Union Center being the bigger venue.

On June 3rd, we reported a near deal that said the game would continue for the next three years, with the TUC hosting this year, SEFCU in 2016-17, and then again at the TUC as part of a neutral site game in '17-18.

We also broke it down with Danes broadcaster Zach Bye here.

However, nothing has been put to paper yet, leading people to wonder again if the game will be played.

But Monday with Armen and Levack, Saints' head coach Jimmy Patsos said the game will be finalized and played.

"We are really close. We will play it," he said. "We will have to go up there, and we will, but we will play it here. But it will be played. Buy season tickets, it will be played. They will have a press conference. And it will happen."
