“I thought that Pharoah had to show me something,” said Bob Baffert, the trainer of American Pharoah, to Time Warner Cable News on Sunday. “It’s all about energy in the horse. He really showed that he was really aggressive.

“He wanted to do something like that. I had to be ‘wowed’ by his work and he was like the Pharoah that we know. Every race has been pretty spectacular. What I saw today was really encouraging. He’s still holding his form.”

“I promise that we are going to race American Pharoah until he tells us that the can’t,” said American Pharoah owner Ahmed Zayat, to Time Warner Cable News. ‘We are on his schedule. As of this second, Bob, Justin, myself and our families have come together and we spoke. Saratoga, here we come!”

The crew of American Pharoah will be in Saratoga by mid-week. The purse for the Travers Stakes has been raised by $350,000 and is now at a total of $1.6 million, more than the Belmont’s $1.5 million earlier this year.

NYRA President and CEO Chris Kay will join 'Armen and Levack' this Friday at 3:15p ET to discuss the latest on American Pharoah and this weekend's running of the Travers Stakes at Saratoga Race Course.
