The Texas Rangers and the Detroit Tigers played game 2 of their ALCS a day late due to the rain and boy was it worth the wait for the Rangers. They were led by Nelson Cruz, who belted two home runs in the game, including the walk-off grand slam to win 7-3.

Nelson Cruz tied the game in the 7th inning with a solo shot off of Detroit Tigers starter Max Scherzer. In the game he went 3-4, 2 runs scored, 5 RBI. Adrian Beltre was 3-5 in the game with an RBI and Josh Hamilton contributed going 2-5 with an RBI.

Derek Holland had trouble in this game for the Rangers as he only went 2 2/3 innings pitched giving up 4 hits, 3 runs, walking 4. Scott Feldman was able to step up big in relief going 4 1/3 innings giving up just one hit. Mike Adams ultimately got the win pitching an inning in relief. Ryan Perry took the loss as he pitched the 11th and didn't record an out giving up 4 hits and 4 runs including the grand slam.
