Andrew Bailey says that he is excited to be a part of the Boston Red Sox as he is now a member of the team.

I'm grateful that the Red Sox saw value in me. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited about being a Red Sox.

-Andrew Bailey

Boston gets Bailey and outfielder Ryan Sweeney in exchange for outfielder Josh Reddick and a couple of prospects.   One of the Red Sox biggest weaknesses last season was their bullpen and new skipper Bobby Valentine hasn't wasted anytime making moves to improve that.  Once again the Red Sox make some moves to improve their team while the division rival Yankees remain quiet during the offseason.

Bailey will replace closer Jonathan Papelbon who recently left the Sox after 6 season to sign with the Philadelphia Phillies.  Bailey was the 2009 rookie of the year.
