La Salle High School graduate and College World Series champion (Coastal Carolina) Zach Remillard recently signed with the Chicago White Sox and he wasted no time in getting started with the Sox Arizona League team.

The triple came in his second game of professional ball and he's 1-6 now in his career. You can't imagine he'll stay in the AZL for long. He's probably only there to get used to a wood bat again and to get his feet wet after not having played for a few weeks. Furthermore, he's getting a later start than other draft picks because Coastal played so much longer into the collegiate season.

We saw the same thing two years ago with Shen grad Branden Cogswell, who led Virginia to the CWS Championship Series and then spent a week in Arizona before being shipped off to A-Ball.

Remillard hit better than .340 for the Chanticleers this season.
