With well-below freezing temperatures expected this weekend in the Capital Region, it's hard to possibly think about SPRING sports, but it's that time.

The Siena men's lacrosse team opens its season on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the Carrier Dome against perennial power Syracuse.

The Saints are coming off a 5-9 season a year ago but are just two years removed from a berth in the NCAA tournament.

To preview the Saints' season, we brought in head coach John Svec to talk about what his team needs to do to get back to a championship level - and about the players that will help him get there.

Furthermore, we asked Svec about the effect of the Thompson Trio that helped put UAlbany on the map. Is it bad for his recruiting that UAlbany received so much national publicity? Or is it good, because exposure was given to lacrosse in the Capital Region?
