The next generation of box lacrosse players will be getting their start in the Capital Region, as the Albany FireWolves have announced a new elite local league.
One of the most physical moments in any lacrosse game Box or Field is the Face Off. Two guys face to face doing just about whatever it takes to get the ball for their team. The man that will be fighting to win the face off for the Albany Firewolves is Joe Nardella. Nardella lovingly known as "Nards" to friends and now fans here in the Capital Region gets a little extra excitement in his voice when he tells you what it takes to win face offs and play Box Lacrosse.
The last time we spoke to Glenn Clark he was the coach of the "Albany NLL" and now he's the leader of the "Albany Firewolves". Sure the roster is the same and the home is still the Times Union Center but now we know the name and persona the team will hopefully win a National Lacrosse League Championship under. So after about six years of coaching the New England Blackwolves how does Glenn Clark feel about coaching the Firewolves?
The Albany Firewolves will begin their inaugural season this December at the Times Union Center and you'll be able to hear every minute of the action on 104-5 The Team ESPN Radio. Every Faceoff, Big Hit, and Goal will be broadcast both on the FM dial and the Team App all season long.
