The WWE’s biggest party of the summer took place tonight as WWE’s Summerslam 2012 emanated from the famed Staples Center in Los Angelas, CA.

In the middle of summer, why not talk about high school wrestling? Shenendehowa High School junior wrestler Alexis Porter captured the ASICS/Vaughan Cadet and Junior National Championships' Cadet girls' 143-pound division title at Fargo, N.D. recently.

Wrestlemania 28 was held on April 1, 2012 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, Florida. The 78,363 fans in attendance saw a fantastic show with two title changes, one continuation of an unprecedented undefeated streak, the end of an era in the WWE, a new GM of both brands and a WWE Legend adds to his legacy.

Tony Fusco (Shenendehowa) and Zach Diekel (Whitehall), both wrestling at the 195-lb. level, brought home championships in the 50th annual New York State Championships held at the Times Union Center on Sunday.

It's finally here.  The New York State Wrestling Championships come to the Times Union Center in Albany this weekend. The competition consists of wrestlers in Division I (large schools) and Division II.

The Watervliet boys and girls basketball programs took the spotlight earning top seeds at Wednesday's Section II Basketball Tournament pairings meeting at Saratoga Springs.  Watervliet is the Class B top seed for the boys and will host the Corinth/Ichabod Crane winner on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 7:30 p.m.

Once again, Shenendehowa wrestlers shined in the Section II state qualifier at the Glens Falls Civic Center this weekend.

It was Super Saturday in Section II wrestling as five classes went to the mats.  In Division I, Class I (Class A) at Colonie, Shenendehowa had a great showing with nine wrestlers taking championships en route to scoring 314 points for the team title championship.

The Shenendehowa High School wrestling team keeps rolling along.  On Wednesday night, Shen defeated Columbia, 50-24, to capture the Suburban Council championship with an 8-0 record and put together its seventh straight unbeaten title.

The Amsterdam High School wrestling team placed second with 173.5 points in the Big 10 Invitational on Saturday.

The Shenendehowa High School wrestling is coming off a couple of excellent performances in prestigious tournaments.
