Tanaka Headed To The DL

Joe Girardi has confirmed that Masahiro Tanaka has elbow inflammation and is headed to the 15-day DL.  "It's not how you draw it up, but injuries are a part of the game," said Girardi.

Tanaka is flying back to New York for an MRI on his right arm. This coming after an outing in which the Yankee ace went 6 2/3rds innings pitched while allowing a season high 10 hits, and surrendering 5 earned runs. Catcher Brian McCann said that he didn’t notice anything different about Tanaka in last night’s outing and is hoping for the best with the MRI results.
