In a relationship that lasted less time than Chad Johnson's marriage to Evelyn Lozada, the Seattle Seahawks have released veteran wide receiver Terrell Owens.

Brought onto the team to compete with Braylon Edwards to play the role of the team's physical wide receiver (think Plaxico Burress on the Giants), Edwards has outshined him in the preseason by miles. Owens, in two preseason games has caught two passes for 41 yards.

One has to assume that this is the end for Owens, who is 38 years old and didn't play last year because of a knee injury and struggled to find a team as a result of that and his notoriously poor attitude. He spent some time on the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League, but was released after forcing opposing teams to pay him to play road games and not showing up to appearances in the community.

One would think that this was Owens' last chance in the NFL, but we will keep you updated if that changes.
