The New York Knicks just aren't tough enough to win a championship this year.  They are coming off of two blowout losses to the top two teams in the Eastern Conference in the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics.  The games were not close and were not competitive at all either.  Karl Anthony Towns is soft, doesn't defend, and is always hurt.  The only player who gets a pass per usual is Jalen Brunson.  He is the only one who consistently goes out there night in and night out and plays tough.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

The New York Knicks' are not a championship team.  In two games against on Friday and Sunday against Cleveland and Boston they got blown out both. Karl Anthony Towns doesn't show up in big games until it's too late and the Knicks absolutely do not defend. There is no way the Knicks beat the Cavs or the Celtics in a best of seven game series. Boston defends at a high level, and that's how championships are won.

Of course the Knicks are still a very good basketball team but they can't get over the hump just yet.  Head coach Tom Thibodeau deserves the criticism he is getting as his teams always usually defend and rebound.  I hope the Knicks can turn things around here soon and beat the Celtics and Cavs eventually but they need to make some significant changes internally and soon.  They are certainly a playoff team, but how far will they go?
