In 2018, Buss was tied for UConn's team lead with thirty-two catches and led the Huskies with four hundred eighty-two receiving yards. Buss is not the only former local standout to have a chance at the pros.
Former Bishop McGinn standout Derrek Thomas has signed on with the Seattle Seahawks. After starting his college career at Temple as a wide receiver, Thomas switched to defensive back where he started eleven of thirteen games for Baylor last season. Thomas was also selected as a Big 12 All-Academic second-teamer
