UAlbany Gets Back on Track, Beats Maine
After suffering two consecutive close losses in conference play, the UAlbany football program is back on track after topping Maine, 20-7, on Saturday in Orono, Maine.
The Danes move to 5-2 overall under first-year coach Greg Gattuso. UAlbany is also 2-2 in CAA play, one year removed from going 1-11 overall.
Maine scored first before the Danes roared back with 20 unanswered. UAlbany recovered two fumbles that led to 10 points to take a 10-7 lead at the break.
After halftime, UAlbany scored 10 more points, three of which came on a 46-yard Patrick O'Toole field goal and seven that came on a Will Fiacchi four-yard pass.
Fiacchi finished with 120 yards through the air while Omar Osbourne led UA with 108 yards on the ground. It was the fifth time this year he topped the century mark.
UAlbany will host Colgate on Oct. 25 at 3:30 p.m.
