Despite losing in overtime of the America East semifinals against Hartford this week, the UAlbany men's lacrosse team earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament on Selection Sunday.

The Danes will travel to Syracuse on May 15th to play the Orange at the Carrier Dome. It's a rematch of an early-season matchup that saw the Danes fall.

“It’s awesome, there is no better feeling, when we are waiting for an at-large bid, to see your name pop up on that screen,” said UAlbany head coach Scott Marr (via UAlbanySports.com).  “It is a relief after last week’s unfortunate loss in the semifinals.”

UAlbany has advanced out of the first round in each of the last two years before falling to Notre Dame both years. If the Danes are to beat Syracuse this year, they will take on the winner of Maryland and the play-in game winner, which is between Quinnipiac and Hartford.
