Last year, UAlbany product Brian Parker was a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. After going undrafted and signing with the Chargers, Parker was plucked away by Kansas City and eventually turned that into a spot on the playoff roster.

This year, it's no certainty that the Great Dane will make the roster, but he isn't worried too much about that. We spoke to Times Union Sports Editor and columnist Pete Iorizzo today about Parker as we reacted to his Monday column - like we do every week.

Parker only had a limited number of offensive touches last season but he excels on special teams and in the blocking game.

Iorizzo also told us an interesting story about how Parker became a good blocker and how UAlbany is using him as an example to players in the current program.
