UAlbany To Raise America East Championship Banner Tonight

The UAlbany Great Danes were the class of the America East last season, winning their conference tournament en route to an NCAA Tournament clash with Duke last March. Tonight, their accomplishments will be celebrated when their championship banner is raised to the rafters of SEFCU Arena prior to their game against NJIT.

UAlbany is coming off of a win against their crosstown rivals Siena, and are looking to improve to 2-0 against the New Jersey Institute of Technology, one of college basketball's two independents. The Highlanders lost by 11 to Tulane in their season opener.

This is the first of two games the Great Danes and NJIT will play this season which, despite resulting in two probable wins for the Danes, makes the Danes' schedule look just awful.

Either way, tonight is a great night for Great Danes fans, as the accomplishments from last season's team will be celebrated.
