Will James Jones And Yale Get An Upset Win In The First Round?
Let the Madness begin this week as it's the best time of year locally, regionally, and nationally for college basketball. We always try to localize things if possible and there are a few stories here in the NCAA men's tournament. First there is Matt Brady who played at Siena under Mike Deane and is now an assistant coach at High Point who has a legitimate shot to upset Purdue as a 13 seed over a four seed. And then there is James Jones at Yale. Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:
Yale has a great head coach in James Jones who played and coached under the Legendary Doc Sauers back in the day at the UAlbany. All Jones has done since 1999 at Yale is consistently get his teams into the NCAA Tournament. Jones who was an assistant coach at UAlbany from 1990-1995 is the 13 seed this year and will try and knock off 4th seeded Texas A&M in the First Round. Yale upset Auburn last season because Jones can flat out coach. I hope one day he gets an opportunity to coach at a higher level because he's earned it.

Most people will take off or leave work early on Thursday and Friday for the games as you should. There will be plenty of upsets and memorable moments. MJ is probably the biggest March Madness fan I have ever met and for good reason. It is the best tournament in all of sports so everyone enjoy the Madness of March.
