Hosting Hartford for the second time in five days, the UAlbany men's basketball team couldn't replicate the success they've had against the Hawks this season, bowing out in the first round of the America East Conference Tournament at SEFCU Arena.

Hartford hit nine three-pointers in the first half en route to a 68-59 win over the Great Danes that ends UAlbany's bid for a fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament.

That said, the Danes are likely not done playing basketball. While this loss has probably cost them a chance at an NIT berth, News 10 reported that UAlbany has already been contacted by both the CBI and the CIT postseason tournaments.

Coach Will Brown has echoed those sentiments on Twitter:

Siena won the CBI tournament two years ago.

For the Danes, Ray Sanders led the way with 13 points. Freshman Joe Cremo chipped in nine.

The loss ends the America East careers of Sanders, Evan Singletary and Peter Hooley. Hooley is one of the most decorated athletes in UAlbany history.
