What Latest Record Is Mr Patroon Close To Breaking?

Derrick Rowland has always been synonymous with the Albany Patroons. He won a championship under Phil Jackson back when I first moved to the Capital Region. He has now been an extremely successful coach the last several years at the Washington Avenue Armory with the Patroons. The best part about Derrick is that he is a total class act and an even better person than a head coach. Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

I can remember covering Derrick Rowland as a player for the Albany Patroons back in the late 1980's and now he's close to becoming the Patroons' all-time winningest regular season head coach. Rowland won his 100^th career game on Saturday moving him 16 wins why of catching Hall of Fame Head Coach Phil Jackson for most all time in the history of the Patroons. Rowland's in his 7th season as the head coach and nobody has put devoted more time both on and off the court into the Patroons organization. There is a reason why his nickname is Mr. Patroon.

I have no doubt in my mind that head coach Derrick Rowland will eventually catch Phil Jackson and become the all time winningest coach in Albany Patroons history. Rowland is a Capital Region staple and has always been so great to the community. The Patroons are also really good and coming off a huge win over new crosstown rival the New York Phoenix on Friday. They have a real shot to win The Basketball League.
