It is finally here and back again as the 2024 Saratoga racing season is upon us.  For the first time ever it is following the Belmont Stakes which happened just a month ago.  The buzz is in the air at the Spa and it will be yet another awesome racing season.  40 days of lots of betting, great horse racing, and most of all electric atmosphere.  Below is my quick take in this as seen in The Times Union:

The start of the Saratoga racing season never gets old, but it is a quick turnaround this summer from the Belmont Stakes festival and the great success of that four-day event. The headlines won't change over the next six weeks when Chad Brown and Todd Pletcher will battle it out for the training title and the jockey title is wide open. The Travers field might look a lot like the Belmont Stakes field which would be a welcome site August 24th. Let's roll for another summer of racing at Saratoga because it gets no better.

NYRA has done an excellent job with all of the renovations and continued overall success.  It is a testament from all of the staff top to bottom here that work tirelessly to make sure that everything is all good.  There is no better place to spend your summer than Saratoga Racecourse and it all will lead and build up to the Travers at the end of August.  It will be my 39th summer at Saratoga and it somehow gets better each and every year.
