The Giants will now officially have a brand new coaching staff as Patrick Graham has decided to move on with a different franchise.  Here is my quick take on this from the Times Union:

We shouldn’t be that shocked that Patrick Graham is leaving the Giants to become the new defensive coordinator of the Las Vegas Raiders. It’s a lateral move at best, but here is the catch. Graham is close friends with former head coach Joe Judge who was fired by the Giants. Graham didn’t like how it ended with Judge, and he decided to bolt. The Giants will have plenty of good choices to replace Graham, but losing Graham is still a big loss.

Earlier today on Big Board Sports, Michael Johnson Jr. and I had a great conversation with Pat Leonard who covers the NY Giants for the New York Daily News.  Below is our full conversation with him.

It will certainly be interesting to see how this new coaching staff will work with the New York Football Giants.  There is a new General Manager in Joe Schoen, new head coach in Brian Daboll, new offensive coordinator in Mike Kafka, and now an open spot for a new defensive coordinator.

According to Pat Leonard, Don "Wink" Martindale is the favorite to get the new DC job.  However some other candidates that have been popping up are: Jim Schwartz, Sean Dasai, and also Teryl Austin.  They have all also interviewed with the Giants according to Art Stapleton.  John Mara and the Giants new something to change for the better in their organization and I do think that they are heading in the right direction overall.
