Who Will Win The Suburban Council Baseball Championship?
Yet again for another season the Section II Suburban Council baseball tournament will be wide open. The weather is finally turning nice and it's the best time of the year for local high school baseball. We all know how talented the 518 area is with producing great players in the minor leagues and even in Major League Baseball. Colonie had a rough year and obviously I'm a little biased when it comes to them with my son Brady on the team. I wish I could pick a favorite but I really can't as every team stands a chance here in 2024 and every year there are surprises.
When the Suburban Council baseball tournament begins next week Shenendehowa is the team to beat in Class AAA followed by Bethlehem and Niskayuna. All three of those teams have enough pitching to win the Section II Title. And don’t count out Saratoga even they don't have one of the top pitchers in Michael Mack who's injured. If Cole Miller is on Guilderland can win a first -round game. Shen is the best hitting team, but it's not been a good year for team batting averages.
There is no better setting than the championship series being at Joe Bruno Stadium on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College. Buckle up for some great games and awesome action with some of the best high school baseball players around the Capital Region. We will have several coaches on throughout the sectionals right here on Big Board Sports on 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio.
