Will The New York Mets Win The NLDS Over The Phillies?
The New York Mets have been unbelievable so far this season. From almost not making the playoffs to being tied one game a piece in the NLDS against the Philadelphia Phillies, it just further proves how resilient this group is. Now the stage is set for game three on Wednesday evening at Citi Field, where the Mets have not played a game since Sunday September 22nd against the Phillies in fact. It is a big start for their ace Sean Manea who needs to go very long into this start with a tired and overused Mets bullpen led by their closer Edwin Diaz. Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:
If the New York Mets are going to get past the Philadelphia Phillies and advance to the ALCS Edwin Diaz needs to be better. Too many times we watch Diaz implode and despite the resiliency of the Mets as a team it’s impossible to overcome Diaz who needs to start consistently getter big outs. The way the Mets offense is going right now they give the team a chance to win every game, but the bullpen needs to come through too especially Diaz.

This has been an awesome series so far with so many back and forth moments and big hits. I like the Mets to win Game Three but unfortunately lose the series in five games. The Phillies are such a good and tough team but this Mets team seems to do better when they have their back against the wall.
