Will The Tri City Valleycats Make The Playoffs This Season?
Under first year manager Greg Tagert the Tri City Valleycats are very close to clinching a playoff spot in the Frontier League's Eastern Division. The team collectively overall has been great and resilient all year long as they have several come from behind wins. They have a few local players who have played very nicely this season too. The fan support has been tremendous and so have the crowds at Joe Bruno Stadium as expected. The front office for the Cats has done another remarkable job this season. Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:
The Tri-City ValleyCats are having their best season in the Frontier League both on and off the field this season. The Cats are on the verge of making the postseason for the first time since 2018 and attendance should surpass 3 thousand fans per game which was the goal of President Rick Murphy and General Manager Matt Callahan. The Cats will also draw their 3 millionth fan on Wednesday a number goes back to 2002 when they opened play in the New York Penn League. It's been quite a ride of putting a quality product in the field and providing family entertainment.
The Cats have not made the playoffs since 2018 and boy are they poised to end that streak. Greg Tagert is a great guy and a terrific manager and his players are all totally bought in for him and with him. They just have to finish these last ten games strong and I am confident that they will.
