What a win on Saturday afternoon for the UAlbany football team as they dominated the Richmond Spiders winning by a final score of 41-13.  The game was 27-0 right up until just before halftime as the defense has total control and quarterback Reese Poffenbarger had another outstanding game.  Now it is a road trip to Moscow Idaho to take on the Vandals in the FCS playoff quarterfinals.  You have to like UAlbany's chances with how good they have been playing but Idaho is a tough and hostile place to play on the road.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in the Times Union:
The UAlbany football team is three wins away from winning a FCS National Championship. The Great Danes proved how good they are this season when they rolled up a convincing win over Richmond 41-13 a team, they had never beaten before in seven tries. The FCS quarterfinals is uncharted territory for UAlbany, but they are a dangerous team heading to Idaho on Saturday.  Head coach Greg Gattuso has a team that is playing its best football of the season and a win away from the Final Four.
