It is no secret that the UAlbany men's basketball team struggled and had a rough 2022-23 season last year.  I have a feeling this season they will be much better.  Freshman standout Jonathan Beagle returns for the 2023-24 season and Justin Neely will be back at some point early in the season too.  Head coach Dwayne Killings is in his third year and feels very strong and confident about the group he currently has.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in the Times Union:

UAlbany men's basketball team went deep into the transfer portal in the off-season and will be better than last season and after watching practice on Sunday the Great Danes might be a lot better. Rhode Island transfer Sebastian Thomas is a true point guard and Hofstra transfer Amar'e Marshall provides consistent scoring. Graduate student Tyler Bertram who played at UAB last season and two years ago at Binghamton can really shoot it. If UAlbany can improve defensively they will win have a chance to climb up the America East Standings.

UAlbany begins their season on Tuesday night at UMass who they played last December where they lost.  Head coach Frank Martin is an experienced and veteran coach and UMass hit the portal big time and only returns one of their top six scorers.  It should be a good game and I am eager to see how UAlbany starts their new season with a lot of new faces and a few returning ones too.  Also how some of the new personnel and coaching changes will help DK in his third season.  It all starts on Tuesday.
