Yankees Fall To Rockies
The Yankees and the Rockies combined to score 23 runs on Tuesday night in Colorado's 13-10 win over New York.
Nathan Eovaldi had perhaps his worst start of the season. One of the Yankees hottest pitchers thus far this season, Eovaldi pitched 4 innings giving up eight hits and six earned runs as he took the loss. He gave up a pair of home runs to Trevor Story and Ryan Raburn that put the Yankees behind early.
"It's very frustrating, especially the way the guys came back in the eighth inning there," Eovaldi said. "I felt that if I had held the game, held us a little closer, then we would have ended up with a win right there."
The Yankees bats tallied 15 hits including a 3-run home run by Didi Gregorius. Rob Refsnyder racked up three hits as well. It wasn't until the 8th inning that the Yankees bats really came alive as they scored seven runs in the top-half of the frame.
The Yankees need to win the next two games of this series. The Rockies are one of the worst teams in baseball. Losing a series to them would really hinder any chance of the bombers getting back into thew division race whatsoever.
Ivan Nova looks to put the Yankees back in the win column against Chad Bettis. Nova has gone at least six innings in each of his last six starts.
