Yankees Lean On More Youth
The New York Yankees hand will be forced to throw even more youth out on the field. The loss of starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi for the rest of this season and next due to a torn flexor tendon and partially torn UCL, means that the Bronx Bombers will have to turn to the likes of 25-year old Chad Green and 24-year old Luis Cessa. While Yankee fans have reason to optimistic about their future, both of these youngsters have a lot to prove in a starting role. Green was very impressive Monday night v.s. the Toronto Blue Jays when he struck out 11 in six dominant innings, and Cessa will likely be making his first start this weekend. To further cut the ties between the past and the future, we've probably seen Eovaldi in a Pinstripes for the last time. He will be a free agent after the 2017 season.
