The New York Yankees got a big win behind their DH and veteran Jorge Posada. Posada had 6 RBI on the day including a grand slam. Phil Hughes contributed with a quality start for the Yankees as he tries to keep his spot in the starting rotation.

What's next for Phil Hughes and the Yankees starting rotation and also what sparked Posada's big day?

Phil Hughes, as mentioned, pitched a quality game going 6 innings pitched allowing 4 hits, 2 runs, walking one and striking out 6. Hughes has certainly been improved since coming off of the DL. But has it been enough?

Well for the short-term, it was certainly enough as Hughes will stay in the rotation due to an injury to Freddy Garcia's finger. Garcia reportedly got cut with a kitchen knife and cut on his finger on his pitching hand. So in the meantime, Hughes will stay in the rotation. However, I still see Hughes being moved to the bullpen due to his success in 2009 pitching in late-innings out of the bullpen.

Jorge Posada had a near career day with his 6 RBI. Posada had 6 RBI four other times in his career. His high in a single game was 7 RBI against the Tigers back on 9/10/03. Posada had a ton of motivation and a lot to play for in front of the Yankee Stadium crowd now that he is no longer a regular starter. Posada certainly made the most of his opportunity as the Yankee DH on Saturday.

There have been many rumors about Posada and who will fill the everyday shoes at DH after Posada was told he wouldn't be the regular guy. Even Jesus Montero was rumored to be called up. But for at least this day, Posada made the best of his opportunity much to the delight of the Yankee Stadium faithful.
