The New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays had their rubber game postponed due to heavy rain on Sunday. AJ Burnett was scheduled to start in place of Freddy Garcia due to an injury to Garcia's throwing hand.

There has been no official rescheduled date announced. But Yankees manager Joe Girardi did say that it will be made up during the next and final home series against the Rays in mid September most likely as a doubleheader.

The Yankees will fly out during the day today to Kansas City as they get set to play the Royals starting tomorrow night in Kansas City. AJ Burnett will be the Yanks starter tomorrow night as he will get his start pushed back.
