Yankee bats scored three runs in 29 2/3 innings heading into Wednesday night.  That changed against the Royals in game three of a four-game set in the Bronx.Robinson Cano and the Yanks erupted for eight runs in an 8-1 win over the Royals.  Cano himself had three hits, one of which a three-run home run in the bottom of the third.  Teammate Lyle Overbay added a grand slam in the bottom of the 6th.

Ivan Nova, trying to get his confidence back and stay in the New York rotation, looked good again.  His sweeping breaking stuff worked early, as well as his fastball location.  Nova went eight innings strong, struck out six and allowed just one earned run to pick-up his fourth win of the season.  Wade Davis (4-8) took the loss, giving up eight earned runs.

New York and Kansas City play the fourth game of this series tomorrow.  It's a day game in the Bronx.  Coverage starts at 12:15 with the Coors Light Yankee pre-game show on The Team.
