Continuing to make a strong 2nd half push to a playoff spot the Albany Devils notched another pair of points on Sunday by defeating their top rival, the Adirondack Phantoms 3-2 and come out of a 3 games in 3 days weekend with 5 points out of a max of 6.

This time it was Phil DeSimone who led the way with a pair of goals. Joe Whitney scored once and assisted on another leading the Devils to their 7th win of the year against the Phantoms. They already have clinched the Time Warner Cable Cup against the Phantoms.

Jeff Frazee, getting most of the playing time while Keith Kinkaid is up with the New Jersey Devils was solid in net again stopping 36 shots by the Phantoms. Frazee has won 4 of his past 5 starts and over the weekend in which he started 2 of the 3 games he stopped 73 of 76 scoring chances.

Whitney now leads the Devils in goals with 17 and has a team high 35 points this season. he has been a terror on Adirondack scoring 6 times and adding 5 assists for 11 total points.

The Devils will try and keep the ching going this Friday when they host Bridgeport at the Times Union Center at 7:00 P.M.. It could be a chance to see former Islander Goaltender Rick DiPietro who struggled badly with the Isles and is now playing in the AHL with Bridgeport
